Historic Seminole Heights is a neigborhood with a growing business community. As with any community undergoing a gentrification or rennasiance there will be set backs and pitfalls. The new will co-exisist beside the funky. Diamonds will be mixed in between the less desirable. The past, present, and future may not travel on the most harmonious path but in Seminole Heights you can sense a commercial community in an exciting transition.
The southern boundry of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. BLVD has steadily over the past 20 years come to be dominated by small office buildings providing medical, legal, and other professional services. The two major north-south roads serving the area are Nebraska Avenue and Florida Avenue. Most of the food establishments are located along these two roads. Hillsborough Avenue as a major east-west road runs through the middle of Seminole Heights. It has a diverse mixture of businesses and is the only stretch of the road that runs through a residential neighborhood which is buffered by an 8 foot brick wall.
